Three ways to train
You are not asked to choose. One membership opens all of them, so a child who starts in Taekwondo can roll on Saturday without anyone asking for another fee.

This is the belt your instructor earned. Every gold stripe on it is one dan grade, and there are nine, which is as far as the grade goes. The red and white belt beside it is the Gracie one.

What actually happens
in the first hour
Most people who ring are worried about the same handful of things. Here is the honest version.
- No experience is needed. Classes take every skill level at once, and the instructors work to the person in front of them.
- Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and bring a water bottle. Protective gear is provided.
- Thongs are worth bringing for walking off the mat.
- You do not need a uniform to start. A clean gi or ordinary workout gear is fine.
- There is no long-term commitment. Membership runs weekly, and stopping takes thirty days notice filled in at reception.

Three children train for the price of two and a half
The first two family members pay in full, the third is half price, and the fourth onwards train free. The teaching and the syllabus stay the same for everyone.

Questions we get asked
How old do children have to be?
Classes start at three years old and run to open age. The age groups are taught separately.
Can a parent and child train together?
Yes. There is a family class where a parent and a child train in the same session.
Does one membership cover every style?
Yes. One membership opens all of them, so a child who starts in Taekwondo can roll on Saturday without another fee.
Is there a family discount?
Yes. The first two family members pay the full fee, the third is half price, and the fourth and any after that are free. The teaching and the syllabus are not watered down for it.
What is BullyStop?
BullyStop is the school’s own programme, and FiveStar is the only BullyStop school on the South Coast. All four instructors are BullyStop certified, so the same approach to conflict runs through every class, not just the one with BullyStop in the name.
